Daily Television Mass
School
This coming Friday, September 10th, the Daily Television Mass will be broadcast live from St. Bridget Church to mark the opening of the school year. The children from the school will plan and participate in this special Mass to be held at 10 am in church. Parents of the school children and all parishioners are welcome to attend.

Tuna Drive
St. Bridget Church has been supporting the Haiti project since 1988 with the school children collecting items during the six weeks of lent.


Then it grew to include collecting Tuna to feed the Haitian people. Each year volunteers collected cardboard boxes to be filled with cans of tuna during the annual Tuna drive. It was certainly a labor of love. When the tuna drive approaches, flyers, bulletin announcements, lunch bags were decorated by the school children as reminders to bring the tuna to church.

On Sunday September 19th, Youth Ministry will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast at Applebee's from 8-10AM.

Tickets are available for $6.00 by calling the Youth Ministry Office. All tickets must be purchased on or before Sunday September 12th.

First Confirmation Meeting
YouthOur first meeting will be Thursday, September 9th at 7pm in the Auditorium. All students who will be participating in the Confirmation Prep Program and their parents should attend. We will be explaining our plans and expectations for the year, handing out folders and answering any questions you may have.

Do you have an old cell phone that you don't need anymore because you have purchased a new one?  Donate your old cell phones to Youth Ministry.  Youth Ministry will be collecting old cell phones all year.  So if you have one sitting in a drawer at home bring it to church and leave it at any youth ministry locations in the appropriate bin.

Youth Spectacular is September 12! Are you going??

If you are interested in going to the Youth Spectacular on September 12, we need to have your permission slip and money ($30) in by July 18th. Any handed in after that date the cost will go up to $35. We will be meeting in the Saint Bridget Parking Lot at 1:00pm SHARP so that we can arrive on time to enjoy Jesse Manibusan! The work of these individuals is to help the parents to raise their children in the faith and to present to the child a model for living as a follower of Jesus. Being a godparent does not necessarily mean that if something should happen to the parents, the godparent raises the child. Only one Roman Catholic godparent is necessary.

Archdiocese of HartfordCelebrating Special Anniversaries?
Save the Date: Sunday, October 17, 2010 – 2:00 p.m.
The Archdiocese of Hartford will honor married couples celebrating 25th, 50th, 60th, or other special wedding anniversaries this year in a special Mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford. Call the parish office for more details and to register. Mass will include the renewal of marriage vows. A simple reception will follow. There will also be an opportunity for a special photo to serve as a memento of the occasion. Further information will be forthcoming.
